The School Day
Morning Session 8.50am to 12.00pm
Afternoon Session 12:50pm to 3.10pm
From 8:30 we have a 'wake up, shake up' programme on the playground to enable the pupils (and parents) to have an active, fun start to their day.
The school day starts at 8.50am. However, the children may arrive at school from 8.40am and go straight into the classroom. The children come into school via two main doors, in EYFS and KS1, through the door to the KS1 corridor and in KS2, through the door into the Y3/4 corridor at the top of the steps in the playground.
Unless your child is attending an after school club they will leave via their classroom’s outside door at 3.10pm. Children in Reception and Years 1-4 will not be allowed to leave until we have seen the adult who is collecting them - if this is not a parent, you will need to notify the school office. Children in years 5/6 are free to exit the building to find the person collecting them unless you tell us otherwise.
Children in every class will have a morning break for fifteen minutes and an optional afternoon break for ten minutes, in addition to their thirty-minute lunch play. During their play times, they have access to a wide range of activities including organised sports, art and free play. We believe that it is important for the children to be able to 'play hard' to make sure that they can work hard when they are in class.
We offer a breakfast club from 7.40am and an after school club (Oscars) until 5.30pm. Bookings can be made to 6:00 by prior arrangement with the school. A charge applies for both these options. Please visit our Clubs & Activities page.
Throughout the school year, the children have a range of enrichment experiences to support their wider development and specialist teaching opportunities such as sports coaching.
