Fernhurst Primary School

Disability Workshop

DiversifyNow visited us to help to develop our understanding of disability.  They were very impressed with our children - look at the feedback they sent us below!

All students were incredibly polite, engaged and impeccably behaved throughout the sessions.  Pupils demonstrated elevated levels of empathy, understanding and consideration for others, which can only be a reflection of what your staff have been modelling for them during their time at school.

Your older students at the top of the school in year 5 and year 6 were incredibly articulated with their responses and informative with their ideas of diversity, equality and inclusivity. Students were able to maintain positive discussion, and no opposing views arose throughout the day. Your year 3 pupils stood out to me for their maturity, friendliness, sensibility  and enthusiasm about making positive contributions which evidenced their understanding and learning of the ethos of the school. Your children had a good knowledge of affecters of mental health, cognitive learning disabilities and also physical impairments that need to be taken into consideration when meeting new people and progressing through life.
