To help your child at home, you are asked to complete home learning each week:

• Reading at least three times a week and recording this in the reading record (on the left hand page).
• Once a book has been finished, each child needs to take the opportunity to complete a quiz about it.

• Rehearsing spellings – please keep the file in your child’s book bag, we will give them a new sheet each Monday and you will be able to see their scores in the weekly spelling test. The class can log into Spelling Shed to practise their spellings each week.

• Times tables practice. To help with this you have a Times Tables Rock Stars account.  In year 6, we expect all children to achieving strongly in all areas of tables and the associated division facts.

If your child is finding things tricky in class, we might set them some additional tasks to do at home to help them but this would be discussed with you in advance. If your child cannot remember their passwords for each of these websites, please do not hesitate to contact us.
