At Fernhurst, each class enjoys 2 half terms of weekly visits to our Forest School site, just a short walk away from School. These sessions are in differing seasons so the children can see how the woodland changes during the year and have a range of experiences.
Robins Class sprang back into action in the woods this autumn half term – it was great to see their enthusiasm for this very special place. Some favourite spots for den building were rediscovered and embellished, new ideas for whittling projects started and some amazing discoveries on bug hunts were made! Robins class undertook some impressive personal challenges this half term such as clay sculpting, making slingshots, using new whittling techniques and autumn poetry! Our cosy campfire kept us warm and supplied us with popcorn – Yum yum!
